THURSDAY NIGHT OUT!

Come out and join fellow members of SPC for a night "out" at dinner. Each Thursday night SPC will be going to a different restaurant in town. We are encouraging people to come and get food to go (or eat in) at a local restaurant. It will give us a chance to run in to each other, gather in ways that work for you, and support local businesses and their employees. Restaurants to be announced. Come get some good food and stay connected with SPC. To motivate everyone, at both restaurants will be an SPC raffle box where you can put your name in for a $50 gift card to a downtown restaurant.

Outdoor Hymn Sing

Sunday, Aug 30 | 4:00 pm

Meet every other week at 4 p.m., at the Rumsey Monument (overlooking the Potomac River in Shepherdstown). We will space apart and face outwards so no one will be singing in anyone else's direction. There will be hymnals and hand sanitizer. Terry Tucker will provide accompaniment on her autoharp. If you play, bring your guitar—and be sure to bring a chair. Anyone can come join us or just listen from their cars or from across the park. Invite family and friends. Let’s get a lot of singing in before cold weather.

PRAYER ON THE PORTICO

Sunday, Aug 30 | 5:00 pm

We are hosting a Prayer Portico each Wednesday and Sunday from 5 to 8 pm. Give yourself some time for prayer, meditation, and reflection in the candle-lit prayer stations in the portico on the right side of the building—entering from the front. The four stations, properly distanced, can accommodate up to 4 people. Light a candle, say a prayer, meditate, and reflect. There will be places to sit outside the portico to wait for an open space. Please respect others and practice current precautions and physical distancing. There will be people staffing the space to manage the flow.
