Therapeutic Riding versus Equine Assisted Therapy
The goal of therapeutic riding is to teach adapted "riding" skills. Quest no longer offers therapeutic riding at Quest.
Equine-Assisted Therapy or Hippotherapy is much more than "riding". Equine-Assisted Therapy is a true medical treatment provided by highly experienced, trained pediatric therapists. Equine-Assisted Therapy combined with Physical, Occupational, and Speech & Language Communication therapy when the child is on the horse, the brain, postural muscles and breathing activity is activated as the horse moves, which in turn wake up, challenge and stimulate cores muscles and brain activity.
